Sarum Super ARAY

Signature Tuned ARAY

The sound stage is huge and instruments sound really natural. Detail and definition are outstanding and rhythms sound so right and real.



Tri-conductor configuration, silver-plated conductors with PTFE insulation. Internal PVC jacket reduces mechanical noise and correctly spaces high frequency effective dual layer combination shield.

Clearway Analogue features our unique ARAY conductor geometry.  Conductors are high quality oxygen free copper, insulated with FEP and mechanically damped with a specially selected PVC.  Shielding is provided by dual layer heavy gauge foil.



ARAY conductor geometry, multi-strand oxygen free copper signal and return conductors.  High density overwrapped foil shielding, reduces signal loss caused by high frequency interference. Unique RCA plug gold-plating process improves signal transfer across audio frequencies.  Over moulded plug surround provides high reliability connection for best performance.  Available in 1 metre and 0.5 metre lengths.

Speaker Cable



10 AWG silver plated conductors.  Each band of copper that makes up the conductors is micro-polished to ensure a completely smooth surface prior to silver plating.  Insulation is air-spaced PTFEPTFE is the best real world conductor.  It can be further improved by foaming – Nitrogen gas is introduced during the manufacturing process – or by air spacing as used on Sarum.  This lowers the dielectric value.  Shielding is a combination of foil and flat weave silver plated copper.  This ensures 100% coverage to the high frequencies.  Sarum is one of the most neutral speaker cables that are available.  It adds and takes away virtually nothing from the signal it’s carrying.  Music is presented extremely coherently and the level of shielding means that sound stage and image depth are dramatically improved.


Signature Reference

Based on the original Chord Signature loudspeaker cable.  Uses high quality silver plated 10 AWG conductors.  Like Epic, positive and minus conductors are separately shielded and each set hand built to order at The Chord Company.  Very low resistance speaker cable.  Carries signals extremely neutrally with almost no loss of detail.  Produces very coherent and controlled sound with excellent degree of musical coherence.


Epic Reference

Uses the same 12 AWG silver plated conductors as Odyssey but the positive and minus conductors are insulated with PTFE before being surrounded by a soft PVC jacket to correctly space the dual layer high frequency shielding.  Each set of Chord Epic Reference is hand built at The Chord Company.  The design is similar to Signature Reference, Sarum and ChordMusic.  Very good cable for both bookshelf and floor standing loudspeakers.  By separately shielding the two conductors the cable carries greater detail and dynamics – particularly micro dynamics – are improved.  This is a design of speaker cable that carries a signal with a real sense of musical coherence.

Epic Twin

12 AWG silver plated conductors taken from Chord Odyssey.  Conductors are spaced with a PVC jacket for mechanical damping before the foil and braid shielding is applied.  Outer jacket is translucent PVC to provide further mechanical damping.  The heavier conductors of Odyssey made it ideal for floor standing loudspeakers where it will help to bring control and definition, particularly across the lower frequencies.



Award-winning shielded speaker cable based on Carnival SilverScreenFEP insulation has same electrical characteristics as PTFE.  Conductor insulation can cause colouration of the signal.  Using FEP on Clearway allows us to produce a cable with very little colouration, whilst the dual layer shielding offers a high degree of protection from interference.  This is a really good speaker cable given its cost.  It carries signals extremely accurately and will work over long runs.  Suitable for all grades of hi-fi systems and home cinema systems.

Epic Digital

Tuned ARAY conductor geometry developed for digital cables. Fitted with silver-plated Chord VEE 3 RCA plugs with PTFE insulation. New design 75 ohm silver-plated oxygen free copper conductor with PTFE insulation. Combination high density 95% coverage braid and high density silver-plated foil shielding.


Shawline Digital

New ARAY tri-conductor geometry – optimised for high speed digital signal transmission. Silver-plated conductors with PTFE insulation, dual layer combination high frequency effective shield.


Clearway Digital

Like all Chord ARAY cables, the Clearway Digital is extremely transparent and carries digital signals with a high degree of accuracy.  Using Chord ARAY cables will help you enjoy your system at its musically coherent best.



The Chord C-digital is designed to work with CD players, streaming devices, DVD players and any other component with a digital coaxial output.  The unique ARAY conductor configuration can improve the coherence and musical involvement of any system.

Mains Cables


Sarum Mains

The Super ARAY power cable conductor geometry was developed just as we started to work on a new UK mains plug and IEC plug. These are the plugs that are fitted to the final version.  The mains plug features silver-plated contacts that are plated to our specification and the plug casing has been modified to allow us to fit a pair of silicon spacers to control and damp vibration. The IEC plug has also been fitted with heavier silver-plated gauge contacts. These are the best plugs we have heard or used.


Power Chord

There’s more to making a mains cable perform properly than fitting the right plugs. We did test a lot of IEC plugs before fitting the one that we do, in listening tests it was clearly better than the others.  What really surprised us though was just how much influence on sound quality the routing of the conductors within both the IEC and mains plugs had.
